Testimonials

Wendi Graham

“Truly incredible instructors & swim coaches!  Our 2-yr old quickly learned crucial survival swim skills which gave us significant peace of mind around our home pool, and she further blossomed into a confident young swimmer in only her second season.  We’re excited to enter her newborn sister at the new facility and are extremely grateful for the wonderful teaching provided by this great team!”

“I have a 4 year old semi verbal autistic child. He loves escaping, as well as water. Drowning is the number one cause of death for autistic children. Autistic children usually love water, as well as have no fear. I searched all over to find a swim class for him that would take him. As I was looking I came across Squiddles and the survival swim class they offered. I researched what survival swim classes were, and saw it was exactly what he needed. He needs to know how to survive if he were to accidentally be in a drowning situation. Since he is so sneaky, he will do everything in his power to get to where he wants to go. I emailed them and asked if they would take on a non verbal (at the time) autistic toddler. They said yes and told me about coach Jodi. She has many certifications for teaching special needs of all types.

She loves to learn and she continues every chance she gets. I didn't have any expectations going into it since he has a hard time communicating. Coach Jodi was so patient with him and built his trust. She switched up the training until he was able to figure it out. He successfully completed the course. It ended with him wearing full winter clothes, diaper and shoes. He was able to achieve his float and get to the edge of the pool. She even took one shoe off to try to challenge him. He passed with flying colors. He loves to practice every chance he gets. I can rest easier knowing that if he happens to get into a situation where he would drown, that he has a strong fighting chance of surviving and getting himself to safety. Do not get turned away because your child gets upset and scared. She will not let anything bad happen to your child. It is normal for them to be upset. She will gain their trust and they will be able to learn how to survive. I'd rather see him upset for a few days than have a tragedy. I am forever grateful to Coach Jodi and Squiddles.”
